Notice:
The Bankruptcy Court of Arizona assigns Russell Brown cases filed in the Phoenix and Yuma offices. The Court creates long case numbers based on the Court office location, year, type of proceeding, and then five digits. The division number is "0" for Yuma cases, "2" for Phoenix cases, and "4" for Tucson cases.
An example of a case number: 2-10-bk-34567-XXX
- The "2" shows a Phoenix case - The "10" is the year code from 2010 - "bk" shows the case number is for a bankruptcy case. For an adversary proceeding, the number would show "ap" - The last five digits of the case number are "34567" - The XXX represents the three-digit letter code for the bankruptcy judge
Case numbers on the Trustee's system use ONLY the year digits and last five digits. Example: 10-34567.
For cases filed before January 1, 2008, the Trustee could have cases with the same case number. To separate these cases on his system, the Trustee has a unique numbering system. For cases filed before January 1, 2008, case numbers might have an "8" or "9" after them. So if your case number search is unsuccessful consider changing the case number with an "8" or "9" immediately after the dash.
